VR Crane Operation

Our project introduced a successful, risk-free virtual reality (VR) simulator designed to train operators in the precise handling of molten steel. The primary objective was to ensure adherence to safety protocols while simultaneously enhancing the skills and confidence of operators, ultimately leading to a reduction in on-the-job errors.

Challenge: The challenge we faced was creating an effective training solution for handling molten steel without exposing operators to real-world risks. Overcoming this required the development of a VR simulator that authentically replicated the complexities of the task while prioritizing safety and skill development.

Solution: Our solution was to implement a VR simulator, which provided a risk-free environment for operators to develop their skills in handling molten steel. By providing a realistic yet safe training experience, we not only ensured adherence to safety protocols but also significantly increased operator competence and confidence, contributing to a significant reduction in on-the-job errors.
